Raphaël Fendrich studied German and Romance languages and literature in Heidelberg and Granada. After graduating, he taught at universities in Morocco, France and the People’s Republic of China. In 2018, he completed his doctorate in German literature with a thesis on Alsatian identity. His main interests are language and cultural contact, German-speaking minorities, Sino-German literary relations and language acquisition in polyglot speakers. He has been working as a DAAD lecturer at the University of Szeged since September 2020.
